The Child Within

The child within is our true self—alive, happy, productive, and strong. It needs to be nurtured properly and when it isn’t we suffer mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Dr. Whitfield developed effective methods to treat and heal issues that 95% of people suffer from.

His charity is devoted to raising awareness, educating, and advancing Dr. Whitfield's groundbreaking work to improve the lives of people everywhere.

"My favorite on the subject of inner growth—it’s just about the best book I’ve ever read —is called Healing the Child Within by Charles Whitfield. It gave so much insight into the problems I saw in myself. It also comes with a workbook, which made it easy for me to grasp”

Get to Know Us

The Charles Whitfield Charity for Healing the Child Within intends to promote, preserve, and expand upon the work of Dr. Charles Whitfield. Its President, Justin Deschamps, was chosen personally by Dr. Whitfield to continue his legacy, saying of Justin that he is qualified to do so through his own merits.

By making the world aware of this man’s decisive contributions to the worlds of psychology and therapy, we hope to do our part to make the world a better place, particularly for children.

There is simply no need for people to suffer when viable methods for alleviating said suffering are available, tried, and effective.

Quotes by
Charlie Whitfield

“If we could raise just one generation of children who all got their needs met, war would disappear.”

“You’re not sick, bad, crazy or stupid. You’re wounded and we can heal from wounding!”

“In my over 30 years assisting countless people with a variety of mental, emotional, behavioral, and relationship problems, I have come to realize that many of them have been misdiagnosed and mistreated. In fact, most of them were not mentally ill.”

Our Values

Our Values

Education, Empathy, Evolution

Rooted in the groundbreaking work of Dr. Charles L. Whitfield, we recognize the lasting effects of early childhood experiences. The driving value of our charity is that everybody in the world has the right to live a full life, free from the long-term effects of trauma (particularly childhood trauma). We further affirm that everyone has the right to all the information and services necessary to make that possible.

The pioneering work of Dr. Charles Whitfield has given us key pieces of the puzzle, which have led to countless positive outcomes for the millions of people whose lives he’s touched.

Psychology has offered us many theories and models of therapy, and every model contains certain presumptions. Instead of assuming that those who have suffered trauma are "broken", Dr. Whitfield observed that his patients weren't crazy or stupid—they had suffered a wound, and WOUNDS CAN HEAL.
